We’re thrilled to welcome the iconic Rush Hour Records to celebrate their 25th anniversary with us here at the Desa, with Detroit legend Moodymann joining Antal, Sassy J and more to set the birthday party mood.
Amsterdam-based Rush Hour Records has been operating at the cutting edge of the dance underground for a quarter of a century — no easy task in the famously challenging world of independent music publishing. Releasing consistently brilliant music that varies in style from raw house and techno to organic global grooves, the label is admired by tastemaker DJs and enthusiasts alike.
Marking the 25-year milestone with a fittingly on-point line-up, Motor City hero Moodymann headlines alongside Rush Hour boss, Antal, and label alumnus, Sassy J. Each of these selectors is renowned for their ability to seamlessly blend diverse sounds and textures, so expect all kinds of sonic delights as we celebrate the anniversary, Potato Head style.

Moodymann
Kenny Dixon Jr. (AKA Moodymann) is a subterranean icon. From raw machine funk to jazz-flecked house, ghetto soul to outright sleaze, his uncompromising and always compelling productions make him one of the most influential artists to have emerged from Detroit’s incredibly fertile dance movement. A genuine legend and a true master of his craft, nobody does it like Moodymann.
Antal
Rush Hour label boss Antal is one of the most respected selectors in the game. Aside from launching one of the underground community’s best-loved brands, his digging credentials are admired the world over, with his sets incorporating all manner of musical curios and hard-to-find sonic delights.
Sassy J
Sassy J is a DJ, music lover, promoter and handcraft artist based in Bern, Switzerland. She has been pooling global sounds through her own night, Patchwork, for the last 10 years — doing it strictly for the love of music — and has recorded mix compilations for the likes of Resident Advisor, Dekmantel and Trilogy Tapes.

Part musician, part performance artist, pigbaby is a project born out of the confusion of the pandemic. Documenting life through art and music, the avant-garde and enigmatic performer won acclaim for his 2022 album, ‘Palindromes’

Jiwa Jiwa frontman Sekan is an artist who blurs stylistic boundaries, fusing raw analogue textures with sleek digital sounds as his sets glide across genres. His work has seen him invited to collaborate with heavy hitters including Dekmantel, NTS, Red Light Radio and more.
